Candid moments of Rituparno Ghosh with Aishwarya in pics

Late filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh

Rituparno Ghosh shared a special bond with each and every member of the Bachchan family, especially Aishwarya Rai Bachchan because he directed Ash twice in his movies, ‘Chokher Bali’ and ‘Raincoat’. Ghosh was an extremely talented filmmaker and he understands the psychological of women very well and always tried to bring alive the women’s psyche in his movies. He came close to Aishwarya during the shooting of these two movies and wrote a personal note to Ash praising her gesture and warmheartedness. He described Ash a very warm, spontaneous and caring person. Ash too had strong feelings for Rituparno Ghosh and reached out to him in his hour of grief.
His sudden demise shocked Aishwarya and the entire Bachchan family. The ace filmmaker died at the age of 49 at his South Kolkata residence around 7:30 am in sleep. He died of cardiac arrest. Ghosh was suffering from pancreatitis.
“I am shocked and deeply saddened by this news. I just can't believe it. May his soul rest in peace,” Aishwarya Rai said in a statement.

Abhishek Bachchan also got the opportunity to work with Ghosh in ‘Antarmahal’. He too expressed his grief and shock with the sudden death of the genius.

“Just realised that Ritu da was the only director that my family have all worked with individually. Pa- The Last Lear, Ma- Sunglasses…Aishwarya - Chokher Bali, Raincoat and me- Antarmahal,” Abhishek Bachchan tweeted.

Abhishek Bachchan worked with Ghosh in 2005 film 'Antarmahal'.

"Had the honour of working with him in Antarmahal. Such a fine director. Will really miss his exuberance and zest for the movies and life," Abhishek tweeted.
Amitabh Bachchan too moved with the news of his untimely death. He paid tribute to the great filmmaker on his blog.
