Remember the movie ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster’? If you liked it, then there is good news for you. The sequel to the 2011 movie is all set to release in theatres on 8th March 2013. It is aptly named, ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’. Mahie Gill and Jimmy Sheirgill continues to play their roles in the sequel from the past movie.
The film promotion is at the final stage and as part of the promotion, the prominent duo of Jimmy and Mahie visited ‘Nautanki: The Comedy Theatre’ sets. It is a popular program in the Colors television channel. They talked about and promoted their upcoming film in the show. Besides, they also joined Kamya Punjabi and Sumeet Raghavan on the stage to do some dancing and singing aloud few popular numbers. Their performance made the judges Tusshar Kapoor and Neha Dhupia break out in riotous laugh as well as the audience.
Incidentally Neha Dhupia was finalized to do an item number in the film, in September 2012. Later on however she was replaced by Mugdh Godse as Neha had date issues.
Beside Mahie and Jimmy the star cast of the sequel include Soha Ali Khan, Irrfan Khan and Raj Babbar. Timangshu Dhulia has directed the romantic thriller and we expect nothing less than the best from him.
The director has earlier worked with Irrfan Khan in the movies ‘Haasil’, ‘Charas’ and 'Paan Singh Tomar'. They are comfortable working with each other and generally brings out the best performance from each other. This is evident from Soha Ali Khan’s statement, "It was lovely to see the chemistry between Tigmanshu and Irrfan because they have worked so often together and they really feed off each other's creative energy. You could see Tigmanshu get visibly excited whenever Irrfan was working. It was enjoyable to see an actor and director get along so well."
Soha Ali Khan is excited about the film, she will be seen on screen after a long time. Speaking about her role in the film, the actress stated, "So much about the film and its characters depends on the suspense created around them and who they are. I play a girl from an aristocratic background. She seems vulnerable and sweet and innocent but when it comes to a situation where she feels threatened, she does what it takes to survive; all the characters do."
