Ace Badminton player Jwala Guttu will be making her Tollywood debut not as an actress but as an item girl. She will shake her legs in a special song in film ‘Gunde Jari Gallanthayinde’ to be directed by her close friend Nithiin.
"Yes, Jwala is doing this special song," confirmed Nikhitha Reddy, who is Nithiin's sister and the producer of the film. "Jwala and Nithiin are best friends and he asked her to dance with him in a special song, when we met her in a party. Initially, she was reluctant, but Nithiin convinced her and she is on board now," she adds.
Nikitha reveals that Jwala has to undergo a special training session for one week. "We had to hold this as orientation for her. Before she started shooting, she wanted to understand the lyrics of the song so that she can emote better. She knows Telugu well and she will start speaking the language fluently soon. Jwala is a very bubbly girl and she is looking great in the song," she says.
Talking about the special number, Nikitha adds, "It's a party song and we shot it in a pub. Initially, Jwala was nervous in front of camera, but she lost her inhibitions once shooting started. She is a quick learner and she is very active on the sets. The chemistry between Nithiin and Jwala is very cute too. And she dances very well too. We roped in a special designer to design Jwala's look," she adds.
The song has been composed by Anup Rubens and it is a peppy number. ‘Gunde Jari Gallanthayinde’ stars Nithya Menen as the female lead. She will act opposite Nithiin who marks the directorial debut of K Vijay Kumar.
Apart from game, Jwala once hit the headlines for her alleged affair with former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin.
